LADY ANGEL

Lady Angeleick Lachelle Alexander, affectionately known as “Lady Angel,” was born on February 12, 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the proud parents Tommy Lee Johnson (deceased) and Annie Jo Johnson‑Weathers. She is the loving older sister of Shanette R. Chapple and a proud aunt to Ashley S. James and Brianna R. Chapple.

Lady Angel accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized at Pearly Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ernest B. Gillespie III. As a youth and young adult, she was active in ministry and served faithfully in the Youth and Mass Choirs.

She later moved her membership to Hill Chapel M.B. Church under the leadership of her uncle, the late Pastor Robert Earl Jones, Sr., where she participated in the Mass Choir, Sunday School, and the Health Ministry. After seven years, she joined Golden Gate Cathedral under Bishop Edward H. Stephens, Jr., serving on both the Health and Women’s Committees. In 2011, she became a member of First Baptist‑Broad under Pastor Keith Norman, where she contributed to the Mentoring and Tutoring Programs for junior high and high school students in Math and Science.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Lady Angel is a 1987 high‑honors graduate of Wooddale High School, earning multiple academic scholarships. She attended The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a 3.5 GPA.

In August 1999, she earned her Medical Technology Certification from Meharry Medical College, concentrating in Microbiology and graduating Cum Laude with a 3.7 GPA.

In August 2003, she completed her Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas–Fayetteville, concentrating in Healthcare and Safety Management and graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
After completing her studies at UT Chattanooga and Meharry Medical College, Lady Angel began her career at Methodist University Hospital, working in the Microbiology Lab for five years. She later joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a Clinical Research Professional in the Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Solid Tumor divisions, managing clinical research studies for pediatric cancer patients.

In March 2006, she transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry as an independent contractor managing clinical cancer research trials. Her clients included Merck, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, and Pfizer.

She is currently employed with Novartis Pharmaceutical Incorporated as a Senior Site Manager, overseeing cancer research trials for breast, kidney, blood, lung, and bone cancers, as well as managing drug development studies.

COMMUNITY SERVICE &LEADERSHIP
Lady Angel is an active member of the Beta Epsilon Omega Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is passionately involved in community‑based service initiatives, including:

  • EYL – Emerging Young Leaders Initiative Developing leadership, academic excellence, and character in young girls (grades 6–8)

  • Health Initiative Promoting personal fitness, healthy living, access to treatment, and health advocacy

  • Economic Security Initiative Supporting wealth building, home ownership, estate planning, and female‑owned businesses

She has also served in several mentoring programs, including:

  • Shelby County District Attorney General’s Mentoring‑Based Truancy Reduction Program

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Memphis‑Connect

Her dedication has earned her numerous awards and honors. In May 1996, she became a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and in May 1999, she received The Professionalism Award, voted on by her peers and colleagues. 

Lady Angel is an anointed woman of God — a gifted spiritual counselor, mentor, advisor, and friend. Her gentle spirit, warm personality, and genuine compassion make her a joy to all who encounter her. She serves faithfully beside her husband, Bishop Ronald D. Alexander, supporting the vision of Divine Purpose Church with excellence, humility, and love.
