Lady Angel


Lady Angeleick Lachelle Alexander, affectionately known as “Lady Angel”,  was born on February 12, 1969 to the proud parents of Tommy Lee Johnson (Deceased), and Annie Jo Johnson-Weathers in Memphis, Tennessee. She is the older sister of Shanette R. Chapple and proud Aunt to Ashley S. James and Brianna R. Chapple.

Lady Angel accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the age of 12 at Pearly Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ernest B. Gillespie, III. As a youth and young adult, she was active in the church and was also a member of the Youth and Mass Choirs. She later moved her membership to Hill Chapel M.B. Church under the leadership of her uncle, the late Pastor Robert Earl Jones, Sr. There she participated in the Mass Choir, Sunday School and the Health Ministry. After 7 years, she joined Golden Gate Cathedral, under the leadership of Bishop Edward H. Stephens, Jr. where she served on the Health and Women’s Committees. In 2011, Lady Angel joined First Baptist-Broad under the leadership of Pastor Keith Norman where she participated in the Mentoring and Tutoring programs for Math & Science for Junior High and High School students. 
   
Lady Angel is a 1987 high honors graduate of Wooddale High School where she earned several academic scholarships. She chose to attend The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she graduated Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.5 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In August 1999, she earned certification in Medical Technology from MeHarry Medical College, with a concentration in Microbiology graduating Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.7. In August 2003, she went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Operations Management from University of Arkansas-Fayetteville with a concentration in Healthcare and Safety Management graduating Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.9.

Upon graduating from University of Tennessee and MeHarrry Medical College in September 1999, Lady Angel gained employment at Methodist University Hospital where she worked in the Microbiology Lab for five years until she went to work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where she worked as a Clinical Research Professional in the Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Solid Tumor divisions which managed clinical research studies for patients with these diseases. Lady Angel presently works in the Pharmaceutical industry. In March 2006, she worked as an independent contractor managing clinical cancer research trials where some of her clients were Merck, Astra Zeneca, Glasko-Smith-Kline, and Pfizer. She is currently employed for Novartis Pharmaceutical Incorporated as a Senior Site Manager where she manages cancer research trials for breast, kidney, blood, lung and bone patients, while also managing drug trials.

Lady Angel is currently a member of the Beta Epsilon Omega Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority. She is very active in community based service programs such as: EYL-EMERGING YOUNG LEADERS INITIATIVE, an initiative that impacts young  girls in grades six through eight by providing leadership development, civic engagement, enhanced academic preparation and character building; HEALTH INITIATIVE, an initiative encouraging personal fitness and healthy life style and one that provides advance access to treatment and coordinated awareness and advocacy campaigns to reduce health disparities, save lives and impact health related issues; and, ECONOMIC SECURITY INITIATIVE, an initiative that expands the current programs related to wealth building and allocation of resources, home ownership, estate planning, support and empowerment of female owned businesses and urban enterprise zones.

Lady Angel has also been involved in several community mentoring programs to include Shelby County District Attorney General’s Mentoring-Based Truancy Reduction Program (SCDAG), Big Brothers, Big Sisters, & Memphis-Connect.  She has earned numerous awards for service and recognition. In May 1996, she was honored to become a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. In May of 1999, she was voted by her peers and colleagues to receive The Professionalism Award.

Lady Angel is anointed Woman of God. She is a gifted spiritual counselor. She is a mentor, friend, advisor and so much more to so many. Her sweet personality makes her a joy to be around as she shares her love and compassion with all.
